This travel and interior story at the Sextantio Hotel, Matera, in southern Italy, was photographed by Jérôme Galland, set among the ancient cave dwellings of the Sassi di Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Owner Daniele Kihlgren restored the property as an albergo diffuso, preserving the original stone and wood rather than remodeling it.
