Villa Astor stands on the cliffs above Sorrento, Italy, overlooking the Gulf of Naples, on a site that once held a first-century Roman villa attributed to Agrippa Postumus. American diplomat and publisher William Waldorf Astor bought the property in 1905 and added its wood-panelled rooms, hand-painted ceilings and the terraced gardens that still surround the house. Jérôme Galland, a travel and interior photographer, photographed the villa redecorated by Jacques Garcia and its grounds for AD Magazine.

La Villa Astor domine la baie de Naples depuis les falaises de Sorrente, en Italie, sur un site qui abritait autrefois une villa romaine du Ier siècle attribuée à Agrippa Postumus. Le diplomate et éditeur américain William Waldorf Astor a acquis la propriété en 1905 et y a ajouté ses pièces lambrissées, ses plafonds peints à la main et les jardins en terrasses qui l'entourent encore. Jérôme Galland, photographe de voyage et d'intérieur, a photographié la villa revisitée par Jacques Garcia et son parc pour AD Magazine.
